The Firm

Specialist by choice, personal by principle.

Tresillian Shaw & Goddard has been part of the fabric of South Wales legal life for more than a hundred years. The firm as it stands today draws on a depth of experience accumulated across generations of practice — experience that still informs every matter we take on.

From our offices at Pipehouse Wharf, we serve owner-managed businesses, landlords, investors and private clients across England & Wales and beyond. As a niche practice we take on fewer matters — and give each one more.

  • Commercial realism

Complaints

Complaints procedure.

We are committed to providing a high-quality legal service. If something has gone wrong, we want to know — and to put it right. You are entitled to complain about any aspect of our service or our charges, and doing so will never prejudice your matter.

  • Step 1 — Tell us

Write to the Director responsible for your matter at our office (Ground Floor Offices, Riverside Centre, Pipehouse Wharf, Morfa Road, Swansea SA1 2EN) or by email to mail@tsglaw.co.uk. Please include your name, matter reference and a description of your concerns. We will acknowledge your complaint within three working days and investigate it fully, keeping you informed of progress.

  • Step 2 — Our final response

We aim to resolve complaints as quickly as possible and will send you a final response within eight weeks of receiving your complaint, explaining what we found, what we will do, and your right to escalate.

  • Step 3 — Legal Ombudsman

If you are not satisfied with our final response, or eight weeks have passed, you may be able to complain to the Legal Ombudsman — an independent, impartial scheme for complaints about legal services. Ordinarily you must refer your complaint within six months of our final response, and within one year of the act or omission complained of (or of when you realised there was cause for complaint). Contact the Legal Ombudsman at www.legalombudsman.org.uk, on 0300 555 0333, or by post to PO Box 6167, Slough SL1 0EH. Eligibility rules apply — see the Legal Ombudsman website for details.

  • Concerns about our behaviour

The Solicitors Regulation Authority deals with concerns about conduct — for example dishonesty, misappropriation of money, or unfair treatment. You can report a concern at www.sra.org.uk or on 0370 606 2555.

  • Complaints about a bill

You have the right to object to a bill and to apply for a court assessment of it under Part III of the Solicitors Act 1974.
